BALCO was incorporated in 1965 as the first Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in India. Ever since then, the company has played a pivotal role for industrial growth in India. In 2001, the Government of India sold 51 percent of the shares in Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) to Sterlite Industries Limited, a subsidiary of Vedanta Limited.
Encotec has been entrusted with the major overhaul of two of BALCO’s 300 MW main turbines.
