Overview
Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) is the company responsible for electricity transmission and distribution within the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. UPPCL restructured itself for efficient operation and management, and UP Power Transmission Corporation Limited, (UPPTCL) was incorporated in 2006. The main objective of UPPTCL is to acquire, establish, construct, take over, erect, lay, operate, run, manage, hire, lease, buy, sell, maintain, enlarge, alter, renovate, modernize, work and use electrical transmission lines and/or networks through extra high voltage, high voltage and associated sub-stations, cables, wires, connected with transmission ancillary services, telecommunication and telemetering equipment in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India and elsewhere.
UPTCL, through its Principal Contractor GE T&D India Limited, entrusted Encotec with the operation and maintenance of its 765 kV / 400 kV substation located at Anpara, Uttar Pradesh
